Logitech Harmony 515 Universal Remote Review

The Logitech Harmony 515 remote control is both easy to use and simple to setup. Setup takes only 30-40 minutes from start to finish with the only requirements being access to a pc and an internet connection.
When you connect to the online database you will need to create a Logitech account. My experience during this setup process is that if you create an account which uses the same login details already used by someone else it may be a bit frustrating but once the account is created it is easy. The setup is pretty straight forward, using the installed software and following the on screen prompts to setup the Logitech Harmony 515 remote control while being linked to the online Logitech database. All you need before starting is a list of the devices (such as TV, DVD player, set top box) you want to control and the model numbers, also be sure you know how they are connected to each other. When you are setting up the Logitech Harmony 515 remote control on your PC there is no “back “ button for you to edit information if you make a mistake, however you may edit each device entry after you finish the setup of the of the device or simply delete the device setup and start again entering the device details again.
Once set up is complete, you will need to test the remote on the devices you set it up for. If by any chance the remote does not work the way you expect, you need to follow the prompts on the remote for the final result you desire.
The two issues I found with this remote is the size of the LCD screen is small and the layout of the device is a little confusing until you get used to it.
The positives of the Logitech Harmony 515 remote control is its simplicity in how to program the different devices, the interactive screen which makes it easy to use for anyone in the family and the ability to enable different set up functions where if one device is turned on the other devices will be turn on too (e.g. turning DVD player on will turn TV on as well).
Overall I am very impressed with the Logitech Harmony 515 remote control, it does everything needed in a remote. The feel, design and operation of this product are excellent. It reduces the number of remotes you need to enjoy your entertainment system to its potential and enjoy something relaxing.
In conclusion, this product is definitely worth getting with its low price around the $75-$99 price range in Australia. What is worth more than the price itself is the looks on your parent’s face, once they find out how all the devices can be turned on all at the same time with a simple click of a button and something that is not too complicated for them to use.
