ROG Intelligent Cooling
Powerful components require a robust cooling solution. The 2022 ROG SCAR 17 SE uses Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU. An ultra-high performance thermal interface material, Conductonaut Extreme can keep these components up to 15°C Ccooler than standard thermal pastes. When paired with a custom vapor chamber and four dedicated exhaust vents, this thermal solution transfers heat out of the system incredibly efficiently. ROG’s Intelligent Cooling™ technology enables critical components like the CPU and GPU to maintain higher boost frequencies for longer periods of time, keeping your framerate smooth and steady even during extended gaming sessions. The SCAR 17 SE keeps noise in check, too: when in Performance mode, the Strix SCAR does not exceed 40 dB.
Beat the heat
Heat dissipation is quicker and more efficient with our vapor chamber design, which vastly increases surface area compared to traditional heatpipe systems. Unlike conventional heat pipes that only transfer heat along their axis, vapor chamber designs spread heat across their entire surface, enabling the vapor chamber to rapidly absorb and dissipate waste heat without adding extra bulk to the machine. This efficient heat transfer also keeps the surface of the laptop cooler, keeping your hands comfortable for the entire game.
Unleash the Grizzly
Cooling is one of the greatest challenges facing gaming laptops, and ROG is constantly pushing the envelope. This drive led to liquid metal, which is extremely effective at transferring thermal energy between surfaces like a processor die and heatsink.
The SCAR 17 SE takes this evolution one step further, with the use of Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal applied to both the CPU and GPU. This ultra-high performance thermal interface material can decrease temperatures by up to a staggering 15°C compared to traditional thermal pastes.
0dB Ambient Cooling
Enjoy truly silent cooling under light workloads with 0dB Technology. In the Silent operating mode, the cooling system switches off all fans during everyday tasks to dissipate heat passively. This allows you to concentrate on your work and immerse yourself in movies with less distraction. If CPU or GPU temperatures increase, the fans automatically switch on again.
0.1mm ultra thin fin
Thermal energy is dissipated by four heatsinks, each lined with ultrathin copper fins as slim as 0.1mm. These fins are half the size of typical solutions, enabling for higher density for heat dissipation and lower air resistance to allow for smoother flow. There are up to 218 heatsink fins totaling 107,131mm² of surface area.
Anti-Dust Tunnels
Our upgraded thermal module design features shorter anti-dust tunnels that leave up to 5% more space around the fan, increasing airflow by up to 15%. Preventing the buildup of dust ensures the long-term stability and reliability of your system.

The sleek aesthetic of the 2022 ROG Strix SCAR 17 SE holds an extra secret in addition to cutting-edge components: specially developed invisible ink. Standard invisible ink wouldn’t adhere firmly when applied to the metal lid, so our R&D team painstakingly created a new substance from scratch. It took six months and seven formulations to perfect, but this new metallic textured ink has passed all our wear and durability tests. A subtle cypher on the lid of the laptop can be brightened with the included UV flashlight, exposing hidden messages in cryptic cyber-stylized text.

Customizable Armor Caps enable you to add extra flair to your machine. Choose from three bundled options in the box, or 3D print your own with downloadable templates for a 100% unique design. TWO-WAY AI NOISE CANCELATION
Our advanced Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation technology runs on the CPU, which frees up the GPU to hit higher FPS. It works with any input device and also with downstream connections, allowing you to remove noise from both your own mic input and from incoming feeds. Noise-canceling settings can even be customized per program, filtering specific apps like voice chat without affecting game audio you want to remain untouched.

Taking inspiration from the best desktop keyboards, the function keys are spaced for fewer misses, and enlarged directional arrows are isolated for precise finger control. Five dedicated gaming hotkeys give quick access to features like volume, mic mute, and Armoury Crate.

Dedicated gaming hotkeys sit just above the left side of the keyboard for quick access to the volume and mic mute controls, operating modes, and Armoury Crate. They are also fully customizable, and can be programmed to launch apps, set as a function key, or used as a macro. The Strix SCAR has all of the tools for victory.
Overstroke Technology
Exclusive ROG Overstroke technology registers keypresses earlier in the stroke, allowing a more responsive experience for serious gaming and work. Triggering earlier means faster, effortless inputs with greater accuracy.
ALL DAY ENDURANCE
The Strix SCAR is ready to go the distance. Featuring a 90Wh battery, the laptop can last for 8.5 hours of video playback before needing a recharge. For flexibility on the go, USB Type-C charging up to 100W is supported. When charging utilizing the supplied 330W power adapter, the SCAR can recharge from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes.

In modern multiplayer games, a stable internet connection is imperative. The SCAR is ready to join the fight with a dedicated RJ45 port supporting 2.5G LAN, as well as the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard. Never lag out again.
BATTLESTATION READY
The RJ45 is not the only port in this storm. The dedicated GPU hosts an HDMI 2.1 port for the latest TVs and monitors, improving total bandwidth from 18 to 48Gbps, and supporting up to 4K 120Hz and 8K 60Hz content. Two USB Type-C ports allow for plenty of connectivity—one for DisplayPort and power delivery, and a second with Thunderbolt 4 support.
