Applying it onto CPUs is delicate work, so ROG commissioned custom equipment to automate the process with mechanical precision, and designed a patented internal fence to contain the compound.

OdB Ambient Cooling, Zero Distractions

Enjoy truly silent cooling under light workloads with OdB Ambient Cooling. In the Silent operating mode, the cooling system switches off all fans during everyday tasks to dissipate heat passively. This lets you concentrate on your work and immerse yourself in movies with less distraction. If CPU or GPU temperatures increase, the fans automatically switch on again.

Upgraded Arc Flow Fans Move More Air With Less Noise

Slim chassis leave little room for cooling, so we enhance every aspect of the Arc Flow fans. Traditional fan blades have a single thickness from base to tip. Our 84-blade Arc Flow Fans have a variable thickness design, down to 0.1 mm at the tip. This approach reduces resonance and turbulence, moving up to 13% more air while reducing noise by 2db.

Internal Blast Cooling uses precisely calculated cutouts in the chassis to direct airflow toward internal components. When compared to more traditional designs, this allows for more efficient cooling, reducing CPU and GPU temperatures by up to 6°C. Thermal energy is dissipated by four heatsinks in the flanks. Each one is lined with ultra-thin fins as slim as 0.1mm, allowing higher density and lower air resistance than typical fins that are twice as thick. 256 heatsink fins totaling 103385.5mm? of surface area guide airflow in multiple directions and minimize interference from the ErgoLift design.

Woofers produce low frequencies that define bass and help create a richer, more dynamic soundscape for your audio. Sounds at such low frequencies typically produce stronger, more noticeable vibrations. In order to minimize resonance in the smaller chassis, the Zephyrus M16 deploys woofers in pairs that are slightly offset to cancel each others’ vibrations.

3D Mic Array

Three modes for the integrated microphone array give you greater control over your input. Cardioid mode captures sound from right in front of the laptop, while minimizing input from the back, making it ideal for streaming and gaming. Stereo mode uses right and left channels to record a wider soundscape for live music or other immersive experiences. Omnidirectional mode picks up sound from all directions equally for clearer group conference calls.
