16AWG WIRE TYPE
Industry-standard factory-issued PSU cables usually come with 18AWG wires. The Sleeved Extension Cable Kit uses 16AWG wires for increased performance. These cables can handle higher temperatures and provide better efficiency than standard issue cables. Meaning they will balance out any normally lost efficiency caused by extending your cables. This also means lower ambient temperatures emanating around your components, because of the thicker wires and protective sleeving.

PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride. Polyvinyl chloride is a solid plastic made from vinyl chloride that can be made softer and more flexible by adding phthalates, such as in the case of making flexible cable sleeves.
