On a standard installation - the NVR will be the heart of the IP System. It is responsible for the proper communication with the cameras and the constant recording of all the data received from the connected cameras. Unlike DVRs, the NVR doesn’t compress the video signal received from the IP camera but just stores it the way it is since it is already compressed by the camera. All of the NVRs support ONVIF that can be upgraded when newer versions are released. ONVIF is a communication protocol for IP cameras and NVRs. It became the standard protocol and assists IP cameras and NVRs from different companies to be able and interact with each other simply and effectively. Our engineers keep improving and updating the ONVIF compatibility of our IP equipment in order to give the installers the easiest way of working with Provision-ISR IP Products.
Conventional NVRs
This line of NVRs is connected to the network and communicates with the IP cameras through the general network, without the need of direct IP camera connection. This provides the installer highest flexibility in the design of the system and the wiring. Basic knowledge in networking and general IP configuration is required.
Plug & View NVRs
This line of NVRs performs as a local network switch and creating a closed internal network for the IP cameras. The IP cameras will be connected direcly to the NVR by one network cable which will provide PoE power and automatically configure the camera for display & record. These NVRs may also perform as a conventional NVRs by dedicating some of the channels to communicating with any ONVIF cameras connected to the network. Minimum to no knowledge in network and IP configuration is needed for this type of installation.
