The ThinkSystem M.2 SATA/x4 NVMe 2-Bay Enablement Kit (4Y37A79663) is a versatile storage solution that supports one or two M.2 drives, with compatibility for both SATA and NVMe interfaces. When using two drives, they must match in type. It accommodates various drive form factors, including 42mm, 60mm, 80mm, and 110mm. While it doesn't have integrated RAID support, RAID can be implemented through VROC (for Intel servers) or a separate PCIe adapter. The kit offers a choice of 6Gbps SATA or PCIe 4.0 x4 interfaces, depending on the drives installed, and allows monitoring and reporting of events and temperature via I2C. Firmware updates can be conveniently performed using Lenovo firmware update tools, ensuring optimal performance and security.
