See these 5 audio products you absolutely need

For people like myself audio is a big part of my life. Whether it be on-the-go headphones, speakers, gaming headphones, microphones, etc. We all use some kind of audio product at home, at work or while travelling.

So it’s important to get an item that will not only last you for a reasonable amount of time, but you’ll also want it to provide you with the best audio quality you can get. As the writer of this article (Ash) I’m a huge fan of audio products and excellent sound quality. Today, we’ll be breaking down 5 audio products that I believe everyone needs to at least give a chance and you’d be certainly surprised at just how great they are.

Apple Airpods Pro
1.      Apple AirPods Pro with Wireless Charging Case

Since the introduction of AirPods, true wireless earbuds had taken the world by storm. Today, you’ll see almost every decent audio manufacturer have 1 or more wireless earbuds models, so at this time, you’ll find that the market is saturated with wireless earbuds, but out of all of them, I’ve chosen the AirPods Pro as my go-to wireless earphones, for good reason!

First, I’m an Android user, it’s my personal preference and for what I use my phone for, I find it more convenient fopr my applications. There’s a misconception that you can only pair AirPods to an Apple device. However, this is far from the truth. AirPods, just like every other wireless earbuds on the market are paired with Bluetooth to devices. So that means that almost every device that accepts Bluetooth audio, you’ll be able to pair the AirPods to.

In my opinion, when it comes to wireless earphones, I like them loud and of course excellent sound quality too. The AirPods Pro provide you with fantastic sound quality, whether you’re watching YouTube, streaming music or listening to podcasts. The sound is crisp, clear and gets to decent volume levels. On top of that, this particular model supports ANC (active noise cancellation), which cancels out any outside sounds, effectively increasing the quality of the audio while you’re travelling.

Edifier S350DB
2.      Edifier S350DB 2.1 Bookshelf Speaker and Subwoofer System

Decent speaker systems can cost you an arm and a leg in most cases. They can get expensive and if you go too cheap, well, you get what you pay for, cheap audio. However, the manufacturer Edifier, who usually have decently priced audio products in general, took me by absolute surprise.

The Edifier S350DB is a 2.1 speaker system at a really good price point. Initially, I wasn’t expecting much, as I have a very decent audio system at home that my wallet still doesn’t like years later. To my surprise, I set this up, hooked it up via Bluetooth to my phone and started playing some high-resolution music, just to see how it’ll play out. I was absolutely blown away. Not only is the audio extremely clear (with or without high-def music), but even so at higher volume levels. It has a very deep bass that sounds amazing and doesn’t distort at high volume.

Compared to my $900 2.1 sound system at home, I find almost no difference between mind and the Edifier S350DB. It’s also approximately 1/3 of the price of that system. The sound and the quality of this product is unmatched at this price range. So if you’re after a really good sound system without breaking the bank. I’d say look no further than the S350DB.

Megaboom 3
3.      UE Ultimate Ears MEGABOOM 3 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

You have thousands of Bluetooth speakers on the market. Different makes, models, styles and colours. However, the UE MEGABOOM 3 in my opinion is one of the best out there. They’re fairly big speakers, but nothing that can’t fit into a backpack. Let’s get the obvious out of the way… Yes, the sound quality is fantastic on this model and the bass is rich. While that’s a big factor for me when purchasing a speaker, it’s not the only thing I look at.

The MEGABOOM 3 is a great speaker to take with you anywhere, camping, partying, for a walk or even just in your room. It’s waterproof and dust proof, so you can take it with you to the pools and even jump in with it (considering you’ve made sure the charging port is sealed properly) if you really wanted to. They’re also built to last, of course, it won’t last you if you’re abusing it and throwing it around everywhere. However, if you accidently drop it or bump it, it’s not going to damage it, they’re robust and they’re ready to go with up to 20-hours of music playback on 1 charge.

Another cool feature that I really love about these, if you have multiple MEGABOOM 3’s or even the BOOM 3’s, you can daisy-chain them all together to make a speaker system. Got 50 of them? No problem, set them up and use them as a massive speaker wall for your party. You can also purchase a charging pad separately with the device so you can place it and forget it. Whether it be at a party and you’d want to have it constantly playing, or if you simply just want to place it on something to charge and go to sleep, it’s a very good option.

RODE NT1-A Kit
4.      Rode NT1-A Studio Condenser Microphone Recording Package

Microphones are used by tons of different people. YouTubers, streamers, singers, podcasters, etc. Of course, studio quality mics can get very expensive if you’re looking for the best of the best. However, there are a few gems out there that are inexpensive and provide you with excellent recording quality.

I’ve been using the RODE NT1-A for a little over 4 months now, mostly for streaming and gaming (and of course the odd zoom meetings). I’m amazed. There’s really not much more to say. The sound quality it provides you is fantastic for a microphone at this price. RODE microphones are designed and manufactured in Australia too, so you won’t be getting a cheap import when you purchase it. You’ll be getting a high-quality studio mic that provides you with excellent sound, has an amazing and premium build quality to it and is fairly stylish. You can get a complete recording kit from RODE at a fraction of the cost of sometimes, a single microphone. So if you’re a beginner or just looking for a really good quality mic, I’d say, look no further than the RODE NT1-A.

Beats Studio 3
5.      Beats by Dre Studio3 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones

Finally, we’re at the last entry which are over-ear headphones. The Beats Studio3 in my opinion are some of the best headphones on the market at the moment. Personally, I’m huge on bass, I really like my hip-hop music so whenever I’m buying headphones or a speaker, that’s one of the first things I check and these Studio3’s do not disappoint one bit.

First things first, I wouldn’t have chosen this if the sound quality wasn’t great. They have a really good build quality and are really comfortable. I can wear them for hours on end without them feeling like they’re hurting my ears and they don’t feel very heavy on my head. They have a 40-hour battery life, or 22-hours if you have Pure ANC on. ANC (active noise cancellation) on this model is fantastic, it helps cancel out outside sounds so that you can focus more on your music/audio instead of external noises. They pair via Bluetooth but also have the option of 3.5mm audio cable, further increasing the battery life. So you can enjoy more of your music and less time having them on charge.
