Skyrim's Next-Gen upgrade is here!

Exactly a decade from its initial release date of 11.11.11, a fan favorite from Bethesda Softworks is getting the next-gen treatment. That’s right! On 11.11.21 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be getting a free next-gen upgrade for those who already own the game or are playing it on GamePass for Xbox or PC. This upgrade will also be available for anyone looking to purchase the game, with the release of Skyrim Special Edition. The next-gen upgrade isn’t the only thing that’s coming to the game! Bethesda is also adding three free pieces of Creation Club content to the game for all Special Edition owners, which includes the ability for you to go fishing in Skyrim!
Further to the Special Edition version of the game, on the same date of November 11th, they are releasing another version which is named The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. This version not only does it includes the three free pieces of Creation Club content, but it also reportedly adds “over 500 pieces of unique content from Creation Club”, which includes new weapons, new quests, and a lot more! If you already own the Special Edition or will be playing it on GamePass for PC or Xbox, Bethesda will allow you to purchase an upgrade to the Anniversary Edition of the game, however, they haven’t detailed any pricing yet.

Are we allowed to say we expected this but are also excited? Skyrim is famously known for, first, a fun and (sometimes glitchy) expansive fantasy RPG experience and secondly, to be ported to almost every device possible. With the release on November 11th, Skyrim would have now been ported across 3 console generations, starting from the 360/PS3 to the XB1/PS4 to now, XSX/S/PS5.
They’ve also released a VR version of Skyrim for people who want to further immerse themselves in the world, but one of the most famous ports of Skyrim was made for Amazon's Alexa assistant which is called Skyrim: Very Special Edition.
The next generation upgrade will be available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on November 11th, 2021.
